Annual Flower Power Festival and Daffodil Explosion
is coming back in March 2017
Each Planted by members of our community as a way to celebrate the beauty of our coast, thousands of blooming daffodils in beautiful shades of yellow and orange will welcome in the renewal of Spring to tiny city of Point Arena in Mendocino County, California. This blossoming, and the advent of Spring itself, is the focal point of the Point Arena Merchants Association Annual
Flower Power Festival and Daffodil Explosion to be held in March 2017. The multi-colored blossoms will brighten the drive along historic Highway One and throughout Point Arena. An early sign of Spring, daffodils will trumpet the season from scenic Arena Cove to the historic Point Arena Lighthouse.
Saturday’s festival events include an historic walking tour of downtown, SCRABBLE® tournament at Coast Community Library, crab Cioppino feed. daffodil photos at the Arena Theater, a craft fair at the VFW Hall, flower arranging contest and musical events. The festival culminates on Sunday at the newly renovated Point Arena Lighthouse with the Wind & Whale Celebration when the Berkely Kite Wranglers fly their giant kites. Experience the thrilling climb to the top of the 115 foot tower; watch migrating gray whales and enjoy this dramatic setting. You might even bring your own kite and try flying it over the headlands.
